thanks a million! a will list u in the credits and try to provide a link although im not sure how I could do that on the actual video. if u got any other cool RE pics ill put them in. and I will notify u once im finished with the video
If you go to my mail page and click on "browse gallery" you should see a folder that says Resident Evil that has all of my current RE work. Good luck with your video, and thanks for checking out my work.
First I gotta say this looks RAD! Nemesis is great, especially with all the dark going on on him, however I think the lack of darkness in the rest of the scene is what makes this feel less intense. Really I think the poses the expressions and lines are wonderful, it's just very 2 dimensional elsewhere in the scene and doesn't pull enough spook from the game, I say fill that space up with either more darkness or junk laying around or BOTH and it will intensify this already radical scene.
Keep it up man, I hope this is a full dang comic when it's done, if it is can I get a PDF download or something?
Hm...I can definately see where you're coming from; I took my lighting from the goverment building with the clock tower from the game)Ya'know where he bursts through the wall). But I completely agree it really doesn't refelct the horror and theme of the series. I'll look back over it and see if I can't do something about that and post up an updated version or something.
As for it being a comic...I would love to draw Resident Evil comics but these were all done in black and white to fit as a poster for a game guide for a friend of mine. I just colored them for fun. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
no problem, and I do remember that scene, I think it was the only time I chose to fight! well actually it was the second, the first was outside the police station because you can run over and examine the body to get the key-card and STILL run from him instantly afterward to go inside the police station!
Nice poses and composition. I like awesome foreshortening of Nemesis's arms, and the little spit stream in his mouth. The highlights are also a great touch. One thing I have a problem with though is Jill's hand with the gun. I think I know what you were trying to do and I see a little bit of the fingers, but instead of looking like she's holding the gun, it looks like the gun morphed itself into her hand. Maybe if you make her arm slightly angled, or just made her hand face the viewer, it might help to show that part better. Anyway, great pic
I'm glad you like the piece, and I completely agree I think at the time I just didn't think too much about what pose her arm would be in but looking at it now I wish I had because it looks pretty awkward. Still, thanks for taking the time to reply.
cha. you deserve it, its hard to get the feeling of action and something jumping towards the other people. and in this you did a great job in it so i had to comment. plus nemesis and jill (carlos too... but seems like he's always forgotten lol) are wayyy awesome
Thanks! I don't think there is anything harder than trying to convey the sense of fear and urgency that I had when I was playing the game. Even if it was only on the original Play Station and the graphics aren't really anything compared to what Resident Evil 5 looks like now, it still scared the hell out of me every time Nemesis showed up. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Yeah, Nemesis is one of the most unforgettable creatures in the RE universe for me. I would so love to have a remake of RE3 with next-gen graphics. Imagine Nemesis actually busting through walls and doors while on-screen in real time!
I think the pic has more of a 3-D look to it in this colorized. The blurring effects in the close range rock debris really helps to give it more of a 3-D feel and Nemesis appears to stand out more from the wall behind him in this colored version. I kind of wish that Jill wasn't covered with Nemesis' shadow. Carlos is colored to well and I want to see Jill with just as much detail. Sorry, just a personal preference from yours truly.
I like the brighter choice of colors in this pic compared to the others. It matches the overall actiony sequence in this pic a lot more to me.
Ah, one more pic to go. Can't wait to see the final one.
Ya'know when I first started colouring this I couldn't help but keep erasing the shadow on Jill. I wanted to put alot of colour on her and really make her pop. But then I thought of my original sketches and how what happens next would be Nemesis crashing through the floor with Jill under him, anyways I just wanted to be consistant. But I agree that Jill looks better all lit up. Maybe you'll be more satisfied with the final piece?
As before I love it. But I dont know, with this one, it really seemed more in motion when it was black and white. It is great and an awesome effort. But yeah. Sorry I keep bringing up negatives lol. But you asked for advanced critique
I don't really know that I can call that a negative. One person said that they couldn't tell if there was any motion. I am really fond of the black and white version of this piece however, I think people on thise site prefer coloured. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I know what you mean, then I got to the police station and he came out of no were, I was like the the hell, then you had the decide to fight him or run into the police station I was like "mmmmmm let's see ahhh ran like hell!!!"
